Albuquerque Business First released an article on entrepreneurship in New Mexico and reflects on some of the unique advantages and disadvantages New Mexican’s face when starting new businesses. The Kauffman Foundation’s 2021 research study on entrepreneurship found that New Mexico sits above the national rate of new entrepreneurs, even in comparison to neighboring state like Texas, Arizona, and Colorado. However, New Mexico ranks lower when it comes to startups and new businesses creating jobs and surviving in their first year.
