Mahmoud R. Taha, PhD, PE, is a Distinguished Professor and Regents’ Lecturer in the University of New Mexico’s Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Taha received his Ph.D. at the University of Calgary where his research was focused on using ultra high-performance concrete and carbon fiber polymer composites to extend the service life of buildings and bridges. After finishing his PhD, he worked as a bridge designer for a few years before joining the faculty at the University of New Mexico.
