Albuquerque Business First recently interviewed Tom Stephenson, CEO and co-founder of Pajarito Powder, LLC, on their recent $9.4 million investment round and their future plans for the company. The Albuquerque-based startup is commercializing technology developed at the University of New Mexico and Los Alamos National Lab and manufactures advanced catalysts for protein-exchange membrane (PEM) and alkaline fuel cells and electrolyzers. Among one of the investors in Pajarito’s recent investment round was Hyundai Motor Company, who is beginning to adopt hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in their lineup. Hyundai is also helping to fund Pajarito’s next big project; a new manufacturing facility to expand their operations.
