Local startup Pajarito Powder, LLC is rapidly expanding their operations in order to keep up with new market interest and commercial sales. In 2020, their commercial sales had doubled in comparison to 2019 sales and a recent $9.4 million investment round is helping them expand to meet new demand. South Korean automotive manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company led the investment round and is also helping to fund their expansion.
Pajarito Powder is an Albuquerque-based startup commercializing technology developed at the University of New Mexico and Los Alamos National Lab. They manufacture advanced catalysts for PEM and alkaline fuel cells and electrolyzers. Their products work to improve fuel cell performance, extend working life, and reduce the cost of fuel cells.
