Join serial social entrepreneur, Mackenzie Loy for UNM Rainforest Innovations’ first lunch and learn of 2024 on Crowdfunding!
About this Event:
During this session, Mackenzie will provide an overview of equity and debt crowdfunding, community-based alternative financing mechanisms to power your business or startup to the next level. At The New Majority, her focus is on New Majority founders, founders who identify as women, People of Color, and LGBTQIA+, but this session is open (and applicable!) to all founders. This session will focus on foundational information on types of crowdfunding and learning through case studies.
This HYBRID event is offered in-person at the Lobo Rainforest Building and virtually via Zoom. Join virtually using this link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85945816511
About the Speaker:
Mackenzie Loy is the founder and CEO of The Homemade Marketplace and The New Majority. Mackenzie founded the first Homemade Marketplace hub, Homemade in DC, to accelerate other women entrepreneurs of Color building their food businesses with a mission to close the racial and gender wealth gap through entrepreneurship. While growing Homemade, she launched The New Majority, a media company making it easier for everyday (non-accredited) New Majority (women and BIPOC individuals) investors to invest directly into founders who look like them. She holds an MPP and MBA from Georgetown and prior to grad school, she worked with non-profits, state agencies, and Fortune 500 companies to launch and grow their innovation programs and has a background in sales and business development. To this day, she loves a good SOP, a “Yes and” mentality, and of course, a great cinnamon roll.
