Like NMBio, the NM Bioscience Authority, the NM Partnership, and the NM Economic Development Department, are focused on elevating the stature and influence of the state’s life science community in NM as well as on the national and international stages. Our missions include fostering collaboration within and between industry, government, and education to provide growth opportunities through funding, talent acquisition/development and strategic partnerships. Our kickoff Lunch & Learn speakers for 2024 include Nora Myers Sackett, the Director of the Office of Strategy, Science and Technology for the NM Economic Development Department and Stephanie Tofighi, the Executive Director of the NM Bioscience Authority. Our sponsor and third speaker for the event will be Rick Thompson, a recent Texas transplant and founder of The Yar Group. He’s a nationally recognized expert at turnaround, new product, and new market development. His firm’s all-star consultants provide startups and larger firms with fractional leadership – CEO, CCO, COO and CMO) for restructuring high-tech, medical device manufacturing and life science companies. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote and elect a new slate of candidates for the association’s board of directors — (Ballot). First time candidates include Nora Myers Sackett, Philip Lister, Dean – School of Math, Science and Engineering, Central New Mexico Community College, and Jeff Bauer, who relocated his firm, Palladium Diagnostics, from bioscience powerhouse San Diego to Las Cruces.
