UNM Rainforest Innovations

OIST studentsOn November 18th, three university professionals from the Technology Licensing Section of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) attended STC’s Professional Internship Academy. The program is designed for professionals who seek to gain an understanding of the role of a technology transfer office and gain comprehensive knowledge on the commercialization and management of inventions.

Below are the staff members that attended the program.

During their visit to STC, the group attended lectures on tech-transfer, commercialization, and marketing held by STC staff members, attended a NM Rainforest University Center Seminar on Taxes and Business Startups, toured the University of New Mexico campus, met with UNM’s Vice President of Research, Dr. Gabriel López, and attended the final pitch presentations for the fall 2019 I-Corps program.

In February STC will host another group of students and professors from Osaka Prefecture University and MPO, Inc.
