The Lobo Hackathon is an opportunity for people to come together to intensely focus and collaborate on improving or creating an idea. Teams can build or refine an idea that sets out to address a problem, utilize a technology, or create something new!
Collaborate on a team or join us for the final pitches where teams will present their ideas to a panel of judges for the chance to win cash prizes! The top prize is $5,000!

- Introductions, pitch an idea, team formation
Friday, April 11, 8am-7pm
- Prototype development, business model development, and final pitches
- Final event from 5pm-7pm (5-minute pitch to a panel of judges)
- Winners will receive a cash prize! Prizes range from $500 – $5,000.

Earn UNM Credit
Participate in the Lobo Hackathon and learn the basics of entrepreneurship while earning credit! The elective course will help prepare students to participate in the Lobo Hackathon. All majors welcome, students not admitted to Anderson will need a program override.

Mentors and skilled experts from all disciplines are welcome. Mentors can assist teams with their subject matter expertise and experience while enhancing their own skills as leaders, educators, and communicators by guiding rising talent.

Open to UNM students, faculty, staff, entrepreneurs, and others in the community. All disciplines are invited to participate. No experience is necessary. We welcome entrepreneurs, engineers, developers, designers, clinicians, and/or students who are interested in addressing challenges.
No problem. This is the perfect place and time to pick up new skills and concepts or to use your existing skills as part of an interdisciplinary team. There will be mentors to help guide you through the hackathon experience.
We will help you find people to work with. Participants are not required to have pre-existing ideas or teams to attend Hackathon.
Teams work best with 5-8 members. Participants will interact during the kickoff on Thursday evening where they are welcome to pitch their ideas to attract teammates with similar interests. Team will form at this time.
We encourage you to bring a laptop for research and development of the final presentation materials. We will provide food, beverages, private and semi-private working spaces, hacking materials and supplies.
We encourage you stay with your team in the working spaces provided considering the quick turnaround time and access to resources. However, you are welcome to work elsewhere.
By agreeing to participate, you acknowledge that you could be photographed, videotaped, recorded, etc. and could be used in various forms of media.
Winners will split a $25,000 prize pool. All federal, state and local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the awardees.
