The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) released a report called “Progress and Potential: 2020 Update on U.S. Women Inventor-Patentees,” which offers some interesting findings on the participation of women in America’s intellectual property systems and innovation community. One encouraging finding was that the number of women entering the patent system has continued to rise. The report utilizes new data collected from PatentsView, an online platform for visualizing, disseminating, and promoting a better understanding of U.S. patent data supported by the USPTO’s Office of the Chief Economist.
